We’ve all seen the traditional jack-o-lantern sitting on the front porch, and over the years they have become more intricate and unique. But we have an idea that you probably haven’t seen before. Instead of setting your jack-o-lantern down on the porch, hang it from the porch ceiling. Not sure what we mean? We’ll show you!
Here’s what you’ll need:
Aleene's Wood Fusion or Aleene's Original Tacky Glue (watered down)
Aleene's Felt & Foam Tacky Glue
Tulip ColorShot Instant Fabric Spray
Cotton string
Black felt
Pencil
Paint brush
Balloons
Scissors
Blow up your balloons so they are about 4 inches wide and
tie off the ends.
Cut the cotton string into long lengths, about 5 feet
long. You can always cut more.
Cut a piece of string about a foot long and tie to the
end of the balloon. You will use this string to hang your balloon so it can
dry.
Pour glue into a bowl and a small amount of water. Use
the paint brush to apply glue directly onto the balloon. This helps the string
adhered so you can wrap it all around the balloon. Wrap the entire balloon with
string and use the paint brush to soak the entire wrapped balloon in the glue.
Once the balloon resembles a very messy spider web, hang
the balloon up to dry. Repeat this process until you have your desired amount
of balloons. Place paper towels or craft paper under the balloons as they will
drip. Allow to dry.
While the balloons are drying create a template of the
monster faces you would like to put on your string lights trace them onto the
felt. Cut out the pieces.
Once all the string balls are dry, pop the balloons and
pull them out through a gap in the string.
Use desired Color Shot colors to add color to the string.
Let dry.
This is the perfect way set your house apart from the
rest and its sure to have all of the trick-or- treaters knocking at your door.
