Step 1
These fun graduation jars are perfect for party guests and even gifts for your grad; it all depends on what you decide to fill the jars with!
Step 2
First cut a strip of black paper to fit around the rim of the jar lid and glue in place with Turbo Tacky Glue.
Step 3
Next measure and cut a 3.5” x 3.5” square from the black paper. You might need to adjust the size of your square depending on the size of the lid.
Step 4
Add some Turbo Tacky Glue to the jar lid and press the black square in place on top.
Step 5
Next cut a strip of black paper to fit around your jar. Adjust the width if needed, depending on the jar size.
Step 6
Glue the paper strip in place around the jar. If you don’t want to glue it directly onto the jar (if you want to reuse the jar), simply add glue to one end of the paper strip and roll it around the jar, pressing the other side of the strip into the glue to secure it.
Step 7
To create the graduation cap tassel, start by wrapping the yellow yarn around your hand about 8 to 10 times. Cut the strand connected to your main skein of yarn.
Step 8
Thread another strand of yellow yarn through the top of your looped section of yarn and tie a knot in the strand to secure.
Step 9
To finish your tassel, cut your looped section of yarn at the bottom to create loose strands. Then wrap another strand of yarn around the strands about ½” below the top and tie a knot to secure.
Step 10
Glue the ends of the tassel hanger onto the center of the grad cap on the lid, then add another dot of glue on top and press a button in place to secure. Let dry.
Step 11
Cut a 2” x 4” strip of white paper and write a special note to your grad, or to friends and family for party favors thanking them for coming to celebrate this milestone!
Step 12
Roll the note from end to end, then glue a strand of yellow yarn to the back of the paper roll. Wrap the ends of the yarn around the paper roll and few times, then tie in a bow to secure.
Step 13
Add a dot of Turbo Tacky Glue onto the back of the diploma and press in place onto the front of the jar. Let dry completely.
Step 14
Once they’re ready, fill your graduation party jars with treats for guests, or special gifts for your special grad!
